Microscopic study of potential toxic effects of monosodium glutamate on liver of chicken embryos aged 16 days

Abstract Background This experimental study aimed to determine the changes caused by monosodium glutamate (MSG) on morphology and histology of liver chicken embryos aged 16 days incubation. In this research, 50 fertilized eggs were used. They divided into two equal groups, one group was used as control with normal structure, while other treated MSG in 0 day incubation (0.1ml/egg). Results The results showed many harmful effects hepatic cells, blood sinusoids, bile ducts group. These included alterations nuclei conformation nuclear envelope. Chromatin distribution associated increased electronic intensity. Also, there rupture smooth endoplasm systems malfunction mitochondria Golgi apparatus, lysosomes lipid droplets. Conclusions concluded that had severe toxic structure if it given pre-conception period is considered critical for growth (organogenesis).
